![]() ![]() ![]() You can see from the pictures there isn’t a huge difference with and without the clear overlay. I’m not sure if I like this outer style for a hardback. The dust jacket on all three books is just a clear overlay with some minor detailing to it and the cover art is permanently on the books. This special edition set is a little unique in the way it treated the outside of the books. ![]() End paper artwork Digital signature page Chapter art Gild with clear overlay dust jacket Gild without clear overlay dust jacket Book one – Gild As you can see in the picture, the top edge of the book carries over the golden yellow color for the edge spray and what you cannot see is that the bottom edge carries over the darker, almost black color of sprayed edge. The sprayed and stenciled edges are identical for the most part between the three books other than on book three where it is a much thicker book with more space to fill. The spines of the series are pretty, they feel cohesive but don’t line up to make a picture as some series do. ![]() You’ve been duly warned at this point, I’m going to jump in to the details of the set and the individual books now!
